1. The question you asked after the panel discussion (10 marks)
How would continuity of care be impacted having virtual appointments? Would families became to create rapport with their practitioners and then have access to the same person during in-person appointments? Or would families have to start from square one in terms of building rapport?
2. How did you feel it was answered by (10 marks)
Amanda did a great job in addressing the conversation and taking it one step further. I only asked about the practitioner in my question, but she included the care team as a whole, which includes the nurses, social workers, and the physicians themselves. She mentioned how continuity of care is super important in this regard and her solution would include the strong rapport building through keeping the care teams consistent through the entire process, from the initial online appointments, to the in-person appointments, and following through the to subsequent appointments that would be needed. She sounded very passionate about this answer, and it sounded to me she really wanted to stress the importance of continuity of care, which I also think is super important. In conclusion, she did a great job in answering my question.
3. What went well? (5 marks)
Clear, easy to follow slides and logical flow of information
Colour scheme was easy on the eyes with font colours that matched the background but was still easy to read
Casual, easy to follow voice, felt like you were talking to the audience and not just reading off a script
Great integration of previous solutions to build on the wicked problem as a whole
Sounded very passionate about the topic which helped maintain interest throughout the presentation
4. What can be done better? Identify 2 or more areas of improvements (10 marks)
- A few slides felt like text overload, and the text was quite small on some of the slides to accommodate
- More information on how care is divided between care teams and how they would work together to avoid fragmentation of care
5. What can be done to improve? (Provide 3 or more suggestions for improvement). (15 marks)
1.Text overload
a) Split up the information on the slides – more slides aren’t always a bad thing and may help with engagement
b) Use bigger font sizes once information is split up to make it easier to read
c) Specifically the challenges-recommendations-feasibility slide – the information on there was great but I think again the giant blocks of text were a little overwhelming. Maybe split each challenge on different slides
2. More context on care teams
a) Would’ve been nice to hear about who is all included in the care times other than the person booking appointments
b) Clarification of roles between people on the care team, who would be included in each appointment, how many appointments needed beforehand; who would be seen in person vs virtually?
c) If coordinating between many members of care team, I do wonder how time lines/wait times would be impacted as well.
