1. The question you asked after the panel discussion (10 marks)

Would the self-evaluation questions be clear and culturally inclusive for diverse IEN backgrounds, with in-person support available, if needed, to ensure their skills and knowledge are fully recognized? If not, how could the digital tool be designed to ensure this?

2. How did you feel it was answered by (10 marks)

I think Ancy did a great job on answering this question. It was thoughtful, and she was very knowledgeable about her solution and wicked problem. I could tell this was very important to her. I like that she mentioned this digital tool was not a human replacement for mentorship or help. That it is a technology meant to compliment and help the process, while also having the face-to-face relationship as well for IENs.

3. What went well? (5 marks)

Ancy is a very engaging speaker and engage the class in questions and prompts to keep us involved and invested in the subject. I learned a lot about what IENs need to go through to continue with their profession while also coming to a new country. The slides were well done, and did not have too many words. I really appreciated the visuals on what the tool would look like and it illustrating how user friendly it would be.

4. What can be done better? Identify 2 or more areas of improvements (10 marks)

  1. The pace of speech somewhat fast at times. A slower pace could make it more accessible for all learners to understand.
  2. Elaborate more on how the app will be developed and by who in the implementation process

5. What can be done to improve? (Provide 3 or more suggestions for improvement). (15 marks)

  1. Invite IENs to help design a digital that would work best for them in the implementation.
  2. Include user feedback in the evaluation phase of implementation. Feedback from IENs, mentors and CNEs could be valuable in refining digital tool and making sure there’s engagement with stakeholders.
  3. Regarding IEN integration, it might be important to touch on culturally sensitivity and how the digital tool was support this through integration
