1. The question you asked after the panel discussion (10 marks)

I found the four different alternative staffing and scheduling models very interesting, as well as the PTNT (Provincial Travel Nursing Team) program you referenced, and was described in the assigned article (Warren & Sneath, 2024).  I’m wondering of these various options which staffing model you think would be the best for nurse leaders to focus on implementing.  Which do you think would have the greatest traction as a place to start?

2. How did you feel it was answered by (10 marks)

I felt the question was answered very well by Sanj, who provided a concise and professional response, that was relatable at the same time.  Sanj incorporated examples from her own experience (Different phases life).  I found it interesting to hear the answer about the presenter’s perspective that the 4/8/12 shift and PTNT models would likely be the most feasible as a place to start, and the complete flexible scheduling as the least immediately feasible model.

3. What went well? (5 marks)

Clear presentation, with accompanying slides that presented an actionable proposal, for addressing the wicked problem of Agency Nurses.  The four alternative staffing models, as well as the PTNT model was presented, as well as feasibility and challenges, in a cohesive and compelling way.  The Feasibility section was also very well done.

4. What can be done better? Identify 2 or more areas of improvements (10 marks)

-Many of the slides were very visually pleasing.  I really liked the Quote slide for instance, with visual, and limited poignant words.

Other slides were a bit word heavy, such as the slide titled: “Why Is This Solution Needed?”  I wonder if reducing the words, into perhaps keyword statements, or very short bullet points, would enhance overall message?

-I would have liked to learn a bit more about each alternative staffing model.  I wonder if selecting a smaller amount 2-3, and then be able to go into a bit more detail would work?

5. What can be done to improve? (Provide 3 or more suggestions for improvement). (15 marks)

-I thought the needs of Gen Z, that was brought up was very interesting.  I wonder if the talk could be improved by working in a Case Study about a Gen Z nurse, so that audience members can understand how the different staffing models would work for nurses?

– The article selected for reading was very good, and supported the topic at hand.  The article referenced the Nursing Retention Toolkit (2024), and I wonder if you could have worked that reference into your talk?

– I understood the section on the Provincial Travel Nursing Team (PTNT) Program, as I had read the assigned reading, but I wonder if the section could be expanded to illustrated the program in a way that would really highlight the program, for those that may have not read the article.

Overall, very well done!
