- Are RNs in correctional facilities able to take the special certification courses that are offered to their nurses and then prescribe OAT in the facility?

- It was answered very well. She had already thought about this question as she answered all aspects of it.
3. What went well? (5 marks)
- I really liked the lay out of the PowerPoint and it was easily understandable. Especially the feasibility chart. They were very detailed. The slides were interactive and the topic is relevant to today.
4. What can be done better? Identify 2 or more areas of improvements (10 marks)
- More information on if there are other areas/towns/health authorities/countries that have these things in place or have good OAT supports already initiated. Examples of successful programs in correctional facilities (if there are any). How prevalent is substance use in the correctional facilities?
5. What can be done to improve? (Provide 3 or more suggestions for improvement). (15 marks)
- Looking at studies in other countries or other provinces. Aswell as having information or input stories of Indigenous people who are incarcerated and how their experiences with Substance use and Substance uses services were in the correction facilities. Maybe some sharing of information from Kwikwexwelhp the only standalone minimum security correctional facility that does not conform to any of the traditional complex design features of other regular correctional facilities. It has the only longhouse within Canada’s Correctional Facilities.
